Our first recipe!
It is rainy and finally fall like here in Atlanta and I feel the need to stay home this weekend and have something warm and filling.
I wanted to share this recipe for the weekend or even for Thanksgiving meals. It is Italian, I love rustic Italian food.
Please enjoy!
So simple to make.
Recipe is from I Sodi in NYC.
3 tbsp Olive Oil
3 large Garlic cloves, minced.
1/3 cup chopped fresh basil
2 tsp chopped fresh sage
3 slices day old bread( peasant or french cut into 1/2 inch cubes.
3 cups water
Olive Oil and basil leaves for garnish.
Heat Olive Oil in saucepan over medium heat.
Add garlic,basil and sage and cook for 2 minutes until garlic begins to brown.
Sitr in tomatoes and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes stirring frequently.
Add bread and water. Return to a boil and reduce heat.
Stir, breaking up bread with the back of a wooden spoon.
Let the soup simmer for 5 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Ladle into bowls,drizzle with additional olive oil and garnish with basil leaves.
Your family will love this and you forever.
