It's Friday! Manhattan Mania!





No one knows for sure the story behind the famous Manhattan cocktail but one story is that the Manhattan was created in 1846 when a Maryland bartender mixed while trying to revive a customer who was injured in a duel, another is that it was created at the Manhattan Club in New York City during a party thrown by lady Randolph Churchill in honor of New York Mayor Samuel J Tilden either way this cocktail is a winner just like the famous city!

Manhattan

2 fl oz. of whisky

1 fl oz. sweet red vermouth

1 dash Angostura bitters

Ice Cubes

Maraschino cherry to decorate.

Pour the whiskey, Vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass: add 4 to 5 ice cubes; stir well. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a maraschino cherry.



Paul’s Manhattan

21/2 oz. scotch whiskey

2 tsp. Dubonnet Red

2 tsp. extra- dry vermouth

Dash of Angostura bitters

2 tsp. of Maraschino juice

Cherry and twist of lemon to garnish

Combine all ingredients and stir well. Strain over ice in a highball glass. Garnish with a cherry and lemon twist.





Dry Manhattan

2 fl oz. of bourbon

1 fl oz. Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth

1 dash Angostura bitters

Ice Cubes

Twist of lemon to decorate.

Pour the whiskey, Vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass: add 4 to 5 ice cubes; stir well. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a twist of lemon.



Not so Dry Manhattan!

2 fl oz. of bourbon

1 fl oz. Noilly Prat Dry Vermouth

1 dash Angostura bitters

Ice Cubes

Maraschino Cherry syrup (from the jar, ½ teaspoon)

Or

A dash of sugar syrup

Twist of lemon to decorate.

Pour the whiskey, Vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass: add 4 to 5 ice cubes; stir well. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a twist of lemon.



Sweet Manhattan

2 fl oz. of whiskey

2 fl oz. sweet red vermouth

Ice Cubes

Maraschino cherry to decorate.

Pour the whiskey and Vermouth into a mixing glass: add 4 to 5 ice cubes; stir well. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a maraschino cherry.



West Side Story

2 fl oz. of bourbon

1/2 fl oz. sweet red vermouth

½ fl oz. of dry vermouth

1 dash Angostura bitters

Ice Cubes

Twist of Orange and Maraschino cherry to decorate.

Pour the whiskey, Vermouth, and bitters into a mixing glass: add 4 to 5 ice cubes; stir well. Strain into a well-chilled cocktail glass and serve with a maraschino cherry and the twist of orange.
